Women in History Month

Posted by on

March is Women’s History Month.

A history making woman of Kansas City is Eliza Burton Conley. Eliza Burton "Lyda" Conley (c. 1869–1946) was a trailblazing Wyandot-American lawyer and activist, renowned for her unwavering commitment to preserving her ancestral heritage. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, she was the youngest of four daughters to Elizabeth Burton Zane, a member of the Wyandot tribe, and Andrew Conley, an English farmer. Conley's dedication to education led her to graduate from the Kansas City School of Law in 1902, making her the first woman admitted to the Kansas Bar Association. en.wikipedia.org

Another amazing woman is Rebecca Walsh. She is our Business Development Rep. She shares, “Caring Transitions Lee’s Summit is outstanding! As a senior advocate, acting with compassion and kindness.  They come from a place of true experience. I am so grateful to have found this wonderful group of people, working hard to take care of each client’s needs. I appreciate the dedication we have as a team to listen and accommodate, knowing and understanding that this time can be complex and stressful. I have had similar transition experiences with my family members and every day I feel more connected, just knowing someone like them is getting the help they need. I love sports, football and soccer and taking my dogs to the park. I am a trivia buff, especially in movies and music. I am currently working towards a PhD in Humanities, and I hope to someday be a genealogist.”
